Cookie policy
Three cookies are strictly necessary. One more, Google Analytics, is set only if you allow it.
Last updated: August 10, 2026
Summary
The short version
We set three cookies of our own. Each one makes a feature work: keeping you signed in, remembering which country's prices you are shown, and completing a Google sign-in. None of them tracks you, profiles you, or reports to anyone else.
Beyond those, we run Google Analytics, but only if you say yes. Nothing analytics-related loads before you choose, and choosing no is not a smaller version of the site: every comparison, filter and price works identically either way.
There is still no advertising technology, no retargeting, no session replay, and no advertising profile of you anywhere.
Consent
What we ask you, and when
Cookies that are strictly necessary to deliver a service you have asked for do not require consent. Our three fall into that category, so we do not ask about them.
Google Analytics is not strictly necessary, so we ask first. Until you answer, no analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookie exists. If you say no, we remember that and stop asking.
Changing your mind takes one click: "Cookie choices" at the bottom of any page. Withdrawing also deletes the analytics cookies already on your browser, rather than merely stopping the next page from setting them.
vp_consent) so we can honour it. It stays on your device. We keep no copy on our servers, so the only record of your choice is the one you can delete yourself.Inventory
What we set
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration | Consent needed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
vp_session | VisionPrices | Keeps you signed in. HTTP-only, so scripts on the page cannot read it. | 30 days | No, strictly necessary |
vp_country | VisionPrices | Records which country's prices and stores you are shown. | 12 months | No, strictly necessary |
vp_oauth_next | VisionPrices | Held for the few seconds of a "Sign in with Google" round trip, so you land back on the page you started from. Restricted to the sign-in callback address. | 10 minutes | No, strictly necessary |
vp_consent | VisionPrices | Remembers whether you allowed Google Analytics, so we neither ignore your answer nor keep asking. | 6 months | No, strictly necessary |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Counts visits and tells us which pages get used. Set only after you allow it, and deleted when you withdraw. Google holds the underlying data for 2 months. | Up to 2 years | Yes, off until you allow it |
__cf_bm and similar | Cloudflare | Bot and abuse detection on the network in front of the site. | About 30 minutes | No, strictly necessary |
Local storage
Stored in your browser, not sent to us
Some things are kept by your browser and never reach our servers.
| Name | What it holds | Duration |
|---|---|---|
vp_pending_save | A lens you tried to save before signing in, so it is still there after you sign in. | Until you sign in, or you clear your browser data |
Control
Your options
Analytics is the one thing here you can switch off, and "Cookie choices" at the bottom of any page does it in either direction, as often as you like.
Your browser can block or delete cookies from any site, including this one. Blocking ours will stop you signing in and will make the site forget which market you are in. Nothing about the comparison itself depends on them.
